BearGuard™ Features
The Ultimate Enclosure Design

• BearGuard™ shelters are manufactured with 12- & 14-gauge GalXC™ steel for superior protection against rusting. Panels are cut, formed and fabricated on precision automated machinery. All panels are riveted and then welded from the interior for additional strength and for aesthetic appearance.

• Precision tolerances are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. The front edge of the floor beneath the doors is tapered at a 15-degree angle, allowing any water to drain off preventing the doors from freezing shut.

• The BearGuard’s™ Dormer Gable Roof design sheds water and snow away from the front of the shelter, unlike top-loading enclosures which allow water and snow to build up over the doors and freeze them closed in winter. The Two Front-opening doors without a center divider offer convenient loading of trash into the containers without first having to pull the containers out of the shelter.

• The BearGuard™ enclosure holds Two standard 32-Gallon trash cans or Three rectangular 30-Gallon cans with adequate room inside the shelter above the trash cans to place recycling bags.

• The door locking system incorporates a Heavy-Duty, Flush-mounted latching mechanism. Inserting the Tapered Shank Mandrel Key into the lock and turning the key opens both doors. A Stainless Steel trim plate covers the keyhole on the front of the door. The attached Mandrel Key is easy for the homeowner to use and impossible for bears to open. Always make sure the doors are closed, locked and secured with the use of the key.

• Our unique, Inside Child Safety Door Release Handle is incorporated into the locking mechanism. The release handle with its Red plastic grip enables both doors to be opened easily and quickly from the inside, preventing a child from ever becoming accidentally entrapped.

• The BearGuard’s™ Replaceable, Reinforced and Recessed Doors are designed with a 1-inch rollover/return around the perimeter of each door and have welded corners. For additional protection, we maintain minimum gap-tolerances around the doors, preventing bears from gaining a claw hold anywhere around the edges of the doors. For extra strength we utilize 5-inch Stainless Steel Piano Hinges to secure the doors to the frame of the shelter.

• BearGuard’s™ interior and exterior metal surfaces are Powder Coated using Urethane or Polyester finishes to meet challenging outdoor requirements. Powder Coating is the ultimate, tough metal finish which extends the life of the shelter and protects it from UV rays.

• Louvers in rear panel for air ventilation and Slotted vents along edge of floor pan for air circulation and drainage
